Features
Coupons, fees & tax
The rules layered on top of a price โ discounts, extra charges, and tax.
Coupons, Fees, and Tax Rates adjust the final amount on an invoice or subscription, on top of whatever the line items already add up to.
How it works
- A Coupon defines a
discount (percentage or fixed amount); a
Promotion Code
is a specific redeemable code (e.g.
SAVE20) tied to one coupon โ you can limit it by quantity, time window, or minimum spend. - A Tax Rate / Tax ID attaches a tax percentage and, for B2B, the customer's tax registration number.
- A Fee is any extra
merchant-defined charge (e.g. a service fee) that behaves like a tax rate
โ attach it as a
default_feeon an invoice or subscription. - A Shipping Rate adds a shipping cost line to a checkout or invoice.
- List Coupons, Promotion Codes, Tax Rates, Fees, or Shipping Rates via the API.
Common use cases
- A "first month free" promo code for new subscribers.
- Adding VAT/sales tax automatically to every invoice in a given country.
- Charging a flat handling fee on top of every order.
